FS2002 Delta Air Lines 757-200 2000 Full Pack V1.0!!
======================================
Now for the first time available for FS2002!!

ALOHA SIMMERS!!!

Welcome to my 14th aircraft project for FS2002!!

As you noticed, this aircraft is HUGE!! That's because EVERYTHING is included!!! This aircraft is a repaint of my Boeing Demonstrator 757, so that should give you a clue as to how much detail is in this aircraft!

You'll find:

A partial virtual cockpit (description below)
An instrument panel (With new features!!)
A fully realistic 757 sound package
A new flight dynamics engine
and the aircraft, which has alot of improvements itself.

I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO READ THIS README IN FULL, IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS!!!

WHAT MADE THIS AIRCRAFT A REALITY?

I was completely blown away by the success of my 9th aircraft project, B7572FP.zip. I decided that I should probably go back and include all the new features of the Boeing Demonstrator into most of my older aircraft. After all, you guys deserve to have the best! After completing the Delta 1997 Full Pack, I decided to finish off the Delta planes by doing the 2000 colorscheme.

In this version I've added the flight dynamics used in DL1984FP.zip, which are very close to those found in fltdyn3.zip, with a few improvements. You'll also find host of new improvements, including new colors for all textures, semi-reflective bare metal fuselage textures, night lighting reflections, and a whole lot more.

Aside from the updates, this aircraft is significant to me as a developer because it will be one of the last to use my original model, and probably the last to wear a major airline's colors. The original model of this aircraft was created during the early days of FS2002. Over time other aircraft design groups have come up with very good Boeing 757 models, and therefore this model is going to become obsolete very soon! So enjoy it while you can!

You may wonder why so many blasted screenshots are included with this plane. That's simply because I can't decide which one looks best, so I'll let you guys decide. I think the sunrise shots are best though. :P

That said, here is a description of each part of the aircraft, and some answers to questions you may have!

First, the aircraft itself:

THE AIRCRAFT ITSELF:

Wing and metal surfaces:

All bare metal surfaces have been given true-to-life photoreal textures, even the APU at the rear of the plane has shiny metal textures. I've cleaned up the engine exhaust area, removed the weathering to make this aircraft look like it just came fresh from the factory. You'll also notice the brand new wings, tail, and landing gear textures as well! I even polished up the leading edge of the vertical stabilizer to make this aircraft really shine! Textures for the engine blades on this plane were created by David Randolph.

About the livery:

Ahhhh...the livery. Delta's 2000 colorscheme didn't appeal to me when it first came out, but over time I've grown to love it very much. I did my best to get the paint on this aircraft as close to the real thing as possible, and used photographs for all textures. The result is a fantastic aircraft that looks very real.

There was also a benefit to this aircraft in that it's predecessor, DL757NC5, was very, very advanced for it's time. So alot of the work I did was mainly touch up, except for the new night lighting and bare metal textures. Now, the belly of this plane has new, semi-reflective bare metal textures, they're so real you just want to reach out and touch them. By being semi-reflective, they reflect the sunlight very well. They aren't Gmax reflective, but they're as close as you're going to get to Gmax textures. I think I did a pretty good job on them. :D

Night lighting:

This is a biggest overall improvement to this plane. In the old version night lighting was adequate, but not good enough. This aircraft will blow you away, it's so beautiful at night. And I've added some excellent features.
Most importantly, you'll notice that the light from the tail of the plane WILL reflect off the fuselage, it makes the rear of the plane look much better. I've also changed the splash lighting on the tail to a very soft white light. I noticed that my normal tail light looked terrible on this aircraft's tail, so I referenced the old version, and noticed the old version had only a soft glow to it. I thought, "why not make my tail light softer, and more spread out."

Well, the results are amazing, and I think you'll love the new tail lighting. Go check it out!

As for the rest of the plane, I've got those beautiful splash effects on the forward fuselage (when landing lights are on), and they reflect off the metal belly of the plane for an amazing effect. To date my Delta aircraft have the most beautiful night lighting effects because of the bare metal, I'm sure you'll love it too.

You might have a complaint about the nose gear lights though. Sorry, I cant add one of those big, beautiful glowing lights to the nose gear. Why? Well, for some reason, when I retract the gear, that light stays on, floating beneath the plane! So, I just didnt include it. Simple as that.

FLIGHT DYNAMICS:

The flight dynamics of this plane are the same used in FLTDYN3.zip. However, I've made a few improvements. I've lowered the rudder effect on roll yet again. Even though in fltdyn3 I cut the effect in half, it was still too sensitive. In this aircraft, your rudder will FINALLY steer your aircraft properly!

INSTRUMENT PANEL:

It may not be 100% accurate, but in my opinion it's the best 757 panel available for FS2002. It's got everything you need right at your fingertips, there's not alot of opening extra windows. That means that you can focus more on flying than waiting on FS to load something else. I've made a big improvement to this panel, by the way! If you've downloaded my other full packs, you most likely have seen the giant clock included with those panels. Although I'm no expert at building panels, I did manage to adjust the size of the clock, and now it's the correct size! The panel itself was greated by Tom Dennis, I did all the the virtual cockpit views and the new clock as well. :)

UPDATE: In this new version I've added a few new things to the original panel. It seems I'm getting a bit better at editing panels, so decided to include some sounds and a new center console for the panel. The sounds are altitude callouts, you'll hear them on takeoff and landing "50," "40", "30," etc.

The new center console has several instruments on it. I took this center console from the Boeing 757 PIC panel, I forget the author, but thanks for your original work!

On The console is a Flight Management computer, if you ever figure out how to use it, let me know. ;) It also has a second set of thrust levers, second set of radios, bacup set of basic trim instruments, and a engine cutoff switches that you can use to simulate an engine failure.

Yes, I know this new addition makes for duplicate gauges, but hey, if one set fails, you've got the backup on the console! BTW, all gauges are linked, so if you change the COM frequency on the console it will also change on the panel.

PARTIAL VIRTUAL COCKPIT:

You may be wondering what the heck a partial virtual cockpit is! Basically, it's a virtual cockpit that you can't see in virtual cockpit view. Sound confusing? Here's an explanation:

In cockpit view, press shift and then a numpad key to look left, right, etc. You'll find panel bitmaps that show the interior of the 757 cockpit, these are actual photographs of the real thing! Pretty neat huh? The only problem is that I can't seem to get these bitmaps to show in virtual cockpit view, until I learn how, this will have to do, but I dont think you'll complain. :) So that's why this is a partial virtual cockpit, you can only see it from cokcpit view, NOT virtual cockpit view. Sorry. :(

SOUND PACKAGE:

This is an EXCELLENT Boeing 757/767 sound package for FS2002. It was created as a collaborative effort between Aaron R. Swindle and myself. These sounds were recorded from an actual Boeing 757 in flight, and I'm certain that this is the most accurate, realistic 757 sound package yet available for FS2002!! But I'll let you be the judge, load up this aircraft and listen for yourself.

NOTE:

You may sometimes hear a hissing noise or distortion in sound with this soundpack. The reason is that there is a bug in the FS2002 sound engine that deforms sound sometimes. If you are flying and suddenly you get a hissing noise, or the sound changes into something weird, hit the "Q" key to turn sound off, then hit it again. It should put your sound back to normal. If it doesnt, reselect the aircraft. Sorry, I can't fix this problem.

There you have it! I really, really hope that you enjoy this plane and all that it has to offer.

I ENCOURAGE OTHER PEOPLE TO REPAINT THIS AIRCRAFT!

I'd like to see other developers repaint this plane! I always enjoy other people's work, and if you want to repaint this aircraft, go right ahead. Just provide me some credit for the original, that's all. Have fun!

OK, now that you know what you have, how about some installation instructions!

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!!

Open Gauges.zip and extract into your MAIN FS2002 GAUGES folder.

Open PanelSounds.zip and extract into your MAIN FS2002 SOUND folder, these are your altitude callout sounds.

Extract all other files into your FS2002/Aircraft directory, all files will go where they need to go. Make sure you have "Use folder names" checked in the Winzip dialog box.

That's it! Now, go into FS2002, find your aircraft, and have fun!

You know, I hate to have to give such a stern legal warning, but unfortuately certain people online ARE doing these things, and it's getting harder and harder for a developer to keep the rights to his or her work.
